The Northern Trust Open is one of the PGA Tour’s most prestigious and well-respected tournament which receives an enormous amount of support by the professionals and their fans. The tournament will be held within the hills of Pacific Palisades just outside of Los Angeles where Ben Hogan once won his very first US open title.
The tournament itself starts off with Pro-Ams and practice rounds where all the competitors take on the course to learn more about what to do and what not to do. The rest of the week will see all players fighting it out to make the cut and to win outright on the weekend and take that incredible $1,206,000 prize fund.
With such an immaculate prize fund, there is no reason why the tournament has such a star-studded playing field with the likes of Keegan Bradley, Ernie Els, Jason Dufner, Dustin Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Bubba Watson and Lee Westwood. With the absence of the world’s numbers 1,2 and 3 and of course on form former world number 1 Rory Mcilroy, the tournament has freed itself up for other players to take the lime light.
