A cold start to the new PGA season

Another season of PGA golf is already underway just a week after both the top Americans and the top Internationals went head to head in the Presidents cup. The Americans were yet again winners, with the Internationals only winning the prestigious competition once, in 1998. Can an International star win this week in the Frys.com open this week?

The Frys.com open is situated Northeast of Monterey at CordeValle golf club, which is not shy of a few birdie chances. Jonas Blixt won last year with a total score of 268 an astounding 16 under par. The Swedish star burst on to the scene last year with this win, however, reality hit at the beginning of the year as the level of golf being played was too much for the man from Sweden. A run of missed cuts at the start of the calendar year saw him become a forgotten man and it wasn’t until the 7th of July where he finally made a top ten finish, in fact he came first in The Greenbrier Classic which saw him bag an incredible $1,134,000. This kick-started his year and saw him make another top ten finish in the last major of the year, the PGA championship. Can he carry on this run of form into the 2013/2014 season?

Many more big names are playing in this years Fry.com open, including Gary Woodland, Marc Leishman, Billy Horschel and Angel Cabrera. No stand-out  contenders but every golfer is capable of taking this title.
